Important News - Stocktake 30th September 2024

27 September 2024

Following our earlier announcement, we are writing to inform you of some important information in relation to the change of ownership of Sign Essentials to Ball & Doggett scheduled to take place on the 1st  October 2024.  Our key focus in the transition is to ensure a seamless transition for our valued customers and suppliers.

With this in mind, please note the following:

Until 30 September 2024

  • Sign Essentials will continue to operate independently. There will be no changes to staffing, order placement, distribution, deliveries and servicing of equipment. Please use existing phone numbers and emails, as you would usually do. Payment terms and payment of accounts will also remain the same.

 On 30 September 2024

  • Sign Essentials and Ball & Doggett will conduct a stocktake starting at 10am.  Orders placed in the prior week will be shipped before stocktake begins.  Unfortunately, we will not be able to ship orders or supply goods to walk-in customers from 10am until the stocktake is completed.  Any orders placed on 30 September will be shipped on 1 October when the stocktake is complete.  We apologise for any inconvenience, but plan to limit any disruption as much as possible.

 From 1 October 2024:

  • Sign Essentials Australia will continue to operate independently (under the ownership of Ball & Doggett). There will be no changes to staffing, order placement, distribution, deliveries and servicing of equipment. Please use existing phone numbers and emails, as you would usually do.  The www.signessentials.com website will also remain unchanged.
  • All deliveries will continue to be made from the existing Sign Essentials premises.
  • There will be some slight variations to invoices, delivery dockets and statements to include Ball & Doggett company information.
  • Payment of Sign Essentials Australia orders and accounts will change from 1 October 2024.
  • New payments details can be found on your Tax Invoices and statements.

If you have any questions regarding these changes or would like to verify the change to bank details you are very welcome to call us to discuss.

A huge thank you for the support you have shown Sign Essentials, and we look forward to that ongoing loyalty as we enter the next phase of ownership.

Roland Dealer Awards 2023

17 April 2024

We are proud to have been awarded Roland DG Queensland Dealer of the Year for 2023.  Also we're delighted to receive an award for over $1 million in sales for the year.  These awards from Roland mean a lot as they reflect the wonderful 30+ year relationship between our two companies.

Thanks once more to our amazing customers and all our staff for the support.

Pricing Update

22 March 2024

With Easter looming already, the team at Sign Essentials would like to wish you all the best for the upcoming holidays. We thank you for your continued support so far in 2024...which is flying by!

Inflation seems to have settled down, interest rates are holding steady and financing is pretty competitive again. On top of that there are some great deals available on equipment at the moment! There are also some exciting new model releases from Roland and Mimaki. Please speak to our team if you're interested in discussing new machinery.

We've held consumables pricing firm over the last two years, despite a number of our suppliers (particularly those based in Europe and the US) passing on increases anywhere between 5% and 25% in that period. Increases in raw materials costs, energy costs and general inflation have been the reasons behind the price rises. On top of this, shipping costs have risen again recently due to industrial action, blockades and increases to local import fees. Unfortunately we can no longer continue to absorb all these rising costs and some prices must rise.

From Tuesday the 2nd April 2024 pricing will increase to reflect these elevated costs. The main product increases will be seen in the Grafityp range of self-adhesive films. As mentioned earlier, it is more than two years since we reviewed pricing and Grafityp will still represent great value for money. Final prices aren’t completed yet, but up to 10% increases can be expected for some items.

Good news for Siser Heat Transfer materials customers! Effective today (Friday 22nd March 2024) we have implemented a 10% temporary price drop on the following products:
* Siser PS Film (Easyweed) Standard Colours
* Siser Colorprint PU Matte
* Siser Colorprint PU Gloss
* Siser Sublithin White Printable
* Siser TTD Application Tape

This discounted pricing will be in place for a limited time, while current stocks last. View our website for current pricing at www.signessentials.com

Finally we will also be reviewing our delivery fees to reflect what we are being charged. Increases in rates and fuel costs have been charged by all local freight companies. There is no blanket increase, but customers in certain areas may notice some variation in the coming weeks. It is simply a reflection of what the freight companies charge us.

We appreciate your ongoing business and have not taken these decisions lightly. All orders placed until the 1st April 2024 will be at current prices and freight rates. New pricing will be uploaded to our website on the 2nd April with freight to follow later.

Please feel free to reply to this email with any questions you may have.

Yours Sincerely
Sean Strange
General Manager

Mimaki added to our range

12 November 2018

Mimaki Australia Pty Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Sign Essentials Pty Ltd as its newest dealer.  The dealership covers all products in the Mimaki range in the regions of Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory.

“We are delighted with our Mimaki appointment” says Sean Strange, General Manager of Sign Essentials.  “Mimaki has some fantastic products that fill a few gaps in our existing offerings.  We’re particularly excited with the new UCJV300-160 and UCJV150-160.  These innovative printer/cutters with UV-cured inks offer the ability to output high quality graphics in excellent time without the need to out-gas.   This decreases production times significantly which is great because we all know deadlines are getting shorter and shorter!”

Sign Essentials will be a one-stop-shop for Mimaki, offering sales, training, support and service as they do with their existing range of products.  “The way we do it now works well” says Solomon Ferreira, Service Manager at Sign Essentials.  “Customers like being able to contact our team with any enquiry, knowing we can help them sort it out.  We regularly visit most parts of Queensland and Northern NSW already, so it will be easy for us to add our new Mimaki customers to the trips.”

Sign Essentials and Mimaki representatives have met several times over the last few weeks and have quickly developed an excellent working relationship.  “We’ve been very impressed with the professionalism of the team at Mimaki” says Sean Strange.  “It was a big decision for us and Mimaki have respected the process we had to go through.  We’re definitely not replacing what we had, for us it was very important we add to our offerings and are able to offer more choice to our customers.  We feel we can achieve these objectives with the Mimaki range.”

“Mimaki Australia is proud to have Sign Essentials on board with the brand” explains Jason Hay – National Sales Manager Mimaki Australia. “The excitement with the opening of our new showroom at Murarrie and partnering with Sign Essentials shows the commitment from Mimaki moving forward in Queensland.  Sign Essentials has great experience in the Queensland market, especially in sales and service in Brisbane and far north Queensland. The respect that Sign Essentials has in the Queensland market, was a clear factor in adding this partnership to join our existing network. This has certainly strengthened the Mimaki model and presence for sure.”

Mimaki products are available from Sign Essentials now.  Their showroom is located at 20 Prosperity Place, Geebung.  Sign Essentials has been selling to, supporting and servicing the Queensland sign and graphics industries since 1991.

New Administration Assistant

5 March 2018

If you have visited our new facility at 20 Prosperity Place then you’ve probably already met Sara Auclair at our reception desk! Sara joined us as our Administration Assistant in January and is really enjoying her role and getting to know our customers.
Sara has previously worked in the banking industry as well as other positions in both large and small businesses. This has given her a great customer service background.
Sara’s role includes reception duties and also processing sales orders for all our consumable products including inks, vinyls, heat-press materials and so on.
Sara is a born and bred Brisbane girl and outside of work enjoys spending time with family and friends. We’re delighted to have her join us and assist the sales and warehouse teams.

We have moved - Open from 4th December

4 December 2017

After 24 years at our previous location Sign Essentials has moved!  In the past we have renovated, added new units and expanded wherever possible.  But we've stretched that to the limit and it was time to move.

We're haven't gone far!  The new location is 20 Prosperity Place, Geebung.  It's only 650 metres around the corner from where we were before.  The phone number, fax number and email all stay the same.

Thank you for your understanding through November as we transitioned.

Please keep in mind the new address for deliveries, pickups and demonstrations.
