The VS-640 brings the last 20 years of innovation and expertise to one device, including integrated printing and contour cutting capabilities, next generation print head technology and accelerated print speeds all in a 64” platform.  Available in three ink configurations, it is also capable of printing white text, graphics and floods and hundreds of brilliant metallic colours for premium graphics and wraps. Priced affordably, the VersaCAMM VS-640 is both exceptional value and a powerful production tool.  VersaCAMM does it all!

Revolutionary New Print Head

Based on a new generation of print head technology, the VS-640 fires droplets of seven different sizes with unmatched precision for beautifully smooth gradations, precision photographs and flawless solid colours. A new gold-plated print head is designed to repel ink, preventing clogs. Precision-rounded nozzles combined with accurate ink firing produce perfect ink droplets for unrivaled image quality. Roland Intelligent Pass Control assures the highest productivity while maintaining smooth gradations and flawless solid colours.  Users can choose* from three ink set configurations: CCMMYYKK for high speed; CMYKLcLmCM for enhanced blues and reds, flawless flesh tones and improved image quality across lighter colours; or CMYKLcLm+Mt+W for the added versatility of Silver Metallic and White ink.
*Ink configuration (either 8 colours, 6 colours (CMYKLcLm) or 4 colours (CMYK) must be selected upon purchase.

Automated Ink Circulation System

To prevent the pigments in metallic silver and white inks from settling, the VS-640 comes with Roland’s unique, patent-pending automated ink circulation system.  The system automatically reduces waste of white and metallic silver ink for dramatically lower running costs. The system ensures exceptional image quality throughout the longest production runs.

Advanced Media Handling System

A true production printer, the VS-640 features an advanced media handling system allowing users to feed rolls up to 40kgs.  Upgraded media flanges and seven pinch rollers secure the heaviest media in place for accurate feeding and tracking through long production runs. Adjustable print heads enable you to accommodate variable media thicknesses..

Roland Versaworks Rip included

The VS-640 takes full advantage of Roland Versaworks Version 4. This true Adobe PostScript 3 RIP is designed by Roland to ensure exceptional production output with unmatched ease of use and uses the latest Adobe CPSI 3018 engine. VersaWorks uses Roland Intelligent Pass Control to optimize the output quality on the VS-640 and estimates the ink usage and print time for each graphic produced.  The Roland Colour System accurately reproduces spot colours from Roland Colour charts and swatch books. 

The Roland Metallic Colour library in VersaWorks features 512 metallic colours that print using CMYK+Mt in a single pass.  This palette includes silver, gold, bronze and other metallic colours.  Users can also easily create and save their own custom metallic spot colours in Roland VersaWorks RIP software.  VersaWorks can control up to four Roland devices including printers, printer/cutters and cutters. It prints cutter crop marks for an automated print/laminate/cut workflow.  With Roland@NET, updates are free and easy, automatically uploaded through an Internet connection.

Roland OnSupport Online Production Assistance

The VS-640 features Roland OnSupport, an online customer support system allowing users to remotely track the status of VS-640 activities.  The system sends e-mails to users notifying them of important information such as when a job is completed and when ink is running low.  With Roland OnSupport, users can also quickly download firmware updates and important product information by accessing an exclusive website with just one mouse click.

Precision Contour Cutting with Quadralign

The VersaCAMM makes quick work of precision contour cutting of decals, signs, labels, etc. Once an image has been printed, it can be automatically contour cut without having to reload or reposition the media. Should you need to laminate your work, Roland's unique Quadralign optical registration system automatically generates crop marks at all four corners, allowing you to remove a print, laminate and then reload it for perfect contour cutting. Quadralign even compensates for skew and distortion.
