Roland Intelligent Pass Control
First introduced in SOLJET PRO III models, Roland Intelligent Pass Control technology (patent pending) is a combination of printer and software advancements that control the ink firing at the edge of each pass and deliver the proper ink density for all media in every print mode. The result is improved print quality and throughput while virtually eliminating banding. With Roland Intelligent Pass Control, VersaArt graphics reflect stunning image quality with exceptionally smooth gradations and flawless solid colours.
ECO-SOL MAX Inks
ECO-SOL MAX is a remarkable innovation in ink technology, offering fast drying time, high density, wide colour gamut, rugged scratch resistance, low cost per square metre, and broad uncoated media support. In addition, ECO-SOL MAX is virtually odourless. The VersaArt features ECO-SOL MAX ink in four colors (CMYK) and in both 220ml and 440ml cartridges. ECO-SOL MAX graphics are water and UV resistant up to 3 years outdoors*. VersaWorks automatically monitors ink levels in both 220ml or 440ml cartridges and posts a warning when levels run low.
* Outdoor durability is based on accelerated weather tests. Results may vary depending upon location and application. Dry times vary depending on specific media characteristics. Lamination may be required for some applications or environmental conditions.
VersaWorks RIP Software
VersaWorks RIP software was developed by Roland engineers for the company’s wide-format inkjet devices. VersaWorks combines powerful features with an easy-to-use interface for outstanding results print after print. Based on the latest Abobe CPSI engine (3018), VersaWorks is now faster and more precise than ever before and features advanced print server functions allowing users to manage up to four Roland inkjet devices simultaneously. VersaWorks also offers support for Roland’s GX series cutters which allows professionals to manage stand-alone cutting operations or pair a Roland cutter with a Roland inkjet printer for print/cut applications. The VersaWorks PerfCut function enables users to produce precision perforated cut lines. VersaWorks features also include proven productivity tools such as the Roland Colour System for easy, precise spot colour matching, the Max Impact Preset for richer colour contrast, and Variable Data Printing. Other VersaWorks features include embedded ICC profile support, ink level adjustment tools, software proofing capabilities and advanced cropping, tiling and nesting options. VersaWorks supports Windows 2000/XP and Vista.
Advanced Media Handling
VersaArt printers ensure precision media feeding throughout long production runs. For maximum productivity, the VersaArt features all-new heavy duty media shafts and flanges that stabilize printer performance and support media rolls up to 40kgs. For unattended roll-to-roll printing, the optional TU2-64 take-up systems are available.
Integrated Heating System
Roland printers are designed to dry prints quickly even in high-speed modes for immediate finishing, installation and collection by the take-up system. The VersaArt features a built-in 2-stage integrated heater system to accommodate a wide range of media options. This advanced system precisely controls the proper amount of heat for each application, yielding outstanding results every time. For maximum convenience, users can store individual settings right in the printer.
Ethernet Connectivity
Roland understands that busy shops need to maximize the layout of their workstations and printing equipment. High-speed Ethernet network connectivity comes standard with the VersaArt. As a result, the VersaArt can quickly process gigabytes of image data to support everyone in your shop.
Low Running Costs
ECO-SOL MAX boosts the performance of Roland eco-solvent inkjets at low running costs that both you and your customers will appreciate. Roland estimates the VersaArt RS series yields an average ink cost of $3.00 per square metre.
Environmental Certifications
The VersaArt RS line is Energy Star certified and operates without an additional power supply on a standard household electrical outlet. Advanced features optimize VersaArt ink consumption, reducing environmental waste and minimizing operational costs as well. VersaArt technology is certified by Roland’s Eco-Label system, an ISO 14021 Type II label certifying compliance with a company’s internal environmental standards.
